f you’re a fan of claypot chicken rice, you have to check out Jalan Ipoh’s version — it’s honestly next level. The rice is cooked to absolute perfection, with that amazing smoky, charred bottom that just takes it over the top. Every spoonful has this deep, savory flavor that’s hard to describe but impossible to forget. The chicken is super tender and juicy, and the soy-based sauce just soaks into the rice beautifully. What really sets it apart is that mouth-watering charred taste — it’s not burnt, just that perfect edge of smokiness that makes you want to keep eating. And don’t even get me started on the side dishes. The salted fish adds that salty punch that balances the dish so well, and the stir-fried greens were super fresh and garlicky. Even the soup they serve on the side is tasty — simple but comforting. It’s one of those meals where you’re already planning your next visit before you even finish eating. Affordable, quick, and super satisfying. Definitely a hidden gem for comfort food lovers. Come hungry — you won’t regret it.
It is a regular go to place for claypot chicken rice since I moved to nearby area Super busy during lunch hour but service is fast Still prefer more scorched rice version to my liking Not noisy as everyone is eating quietly or waiting patiently
Michelin recommend Claypot Chicken rice. Food is delicious, not too salty and taste of sauce is perfect. 1person pot + cincau drink = RM15. Saturday afternoon very traffic and hard find parking.
Had a satisfactory meal here both the food and the service were decent. Portions felt smaller than expected, so if you’re hungry you may want to add a side or an extra dish. It’s fine for a quick bite or a one-time visit, but not something I’d go out of my way for. Overall, worth trying once.
Quick & Satisfying Claypot Fix at Jalan Ipoh Claypot Chicken Rice (Michelin Awarded!) Stumbled upon this Jalan Ipoh Claypot Chicken Rice spot during lunch today, and realizing it had a Michelin award, we had to stop! They serve up exactly what they advertise: freshly cooked, individual claypots of rice with chicken, sausage, and a hint of salted fish. You can literally see and smell them cooking, which is always a good sign. It was definitely worth trying for a quick and tasty lunch. The rice was nicely cooked, the chicken was tender, and the sausage and salted fish added a good savory depth. While it was a solid and satisfying claypot chicken rice, it didn't quite reach the heights of my personal favorite. However, for a randomly discovered, Michelin-awarded local spot, it's a great option if you're in the area and craving this classic dish. Definitely worth checking out!
Super tasty claypot chickem rice. Rich fragrance, flavorful salted fish taste and chicken is marinated nicely. But at roadside, a bit hot and difficult to find carpark.
This is a classic taste that is cooked with heart and care. Food is simple, sincere and tasty. It was served quickly as the boss cooks many pots together non-stop. Thank you for the yummy food!
I am rating it 5 star is for the purpose of showing in the top of the review list.. The shop not deserves any star. Zero! zero star. Service is suck, rude. If really so frustrated, then should consider no to do business and close the shop and let the old man stay at home. Customer vist for the lunch, not to get scolding. Really dont understand how they get the Michelin award. A real SHAME!!! Food is also below average, dirty, food taste salty and pricey. Totally no recommended. No More Next VISIT...
